“The successor model Pentacon AV 100mm with an aperture ratio of F2.8, which was previously featured in this blog, was a lens with a tendency to produce soft images with a slight flare in the focal area, but the Diaplan F3 has less flare and produces sharper images. However, the resolution of the successor model is better. As for the important bokeh, a clear bubble bokeh with a strong accumulation of light behind the subject was confirmed. The only difference in image quality between the coated model and the uncoated model was the gradation depiction performance, with the coated model having better contrast and better color reproduction, while the uncoated model was more prone to halation when shooting against the light and tended to produce pale colors. If you want to avoid a pale depiction, attach the hood firmly and set the digital camera to vivid. Other than that, the two models are almost the same in terms of resolution, bokeh, amount of flare, etc.”
